I grew up an Air Force kid
What I bring to this work
Military life asks a lot of everyone in the family, not only the person in uniform. I know from the inside what it is like to start over every few years, to say goodbye to friends before you are ready, to adjust to a new school, a new country and new rules, and to carry a quiet sense that home is wherever the family is posted.
That life also builds real strengths: adaptability, loyalty, a sense of mission and a sense of humor. In therapy we can honor those strengths while making room for what was hard.
Who I work with
- Service members and veterans
- National Guard and Reserve members and their families
- Military spouses and partners
- Adult military kids, the brats who grew up and still feel the pull of all those moves
- Families navigating deployment, reintegration, relocation or retirement
I see clients by telehealth in Washington, Idaho and Utah, and in person in Deer Park, north of Spokane.
Military-informed care
I have completed specialized training in military culture and service-related behavioral health, including Tier Two: Overview of Military Service-Related Behavioral Health Challenges (Center for Deployment Psychology, Star Behavioral Health Providers, 2025). For trauma, I offer Written Exposure Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy and DBT Prolonged Exposure. More on trauma therapy →
TRICARE
I am working on joining the TriWest (TRICARE West) network. Please email me to ask about the current status and your options, including self-pay and other insurance.
For referring providers
I welcome referrals from primary care managers, military treatment facilities, Military and Family Life Counselors, and Guard and Reserve psychological health staff.
I offer individual therapy by telehealth across Washington and in person in Deer Park, about 40 to 45 minutes from Fairchild AFB. My focus is trauma, including Written Exposure Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy and DBT Prolonged Exposure, along with DBT for clients who need more support with safety and emotion regulation.
With the client's consent, I send a care summary back to the referring provider after the initial evaluation and at key points in treatment, and I'm glad to coordinate care.
